Hey River City,

This week we are wrapping up our “Downgraded, Embracing Financial Reality” series. This is going to be a very powerful teaching as we unpack what we’ve learned so far and the implications it has for our work life. So many people struggle at work and intuitively know they are meant for something more! We all put in a lot of time on the job, and getting this area right can transform the direction of our lives. You don’t want to miss this one! Be sure to invite someone you know who could use some encouragement in their work life.

THEN…on Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, we’re meeting at our new Central Campus location for a huge baptism and time of worship on the hill! All three campuses will join together for this powerful celebration of faith. This is going to be a great weekend that you won’t want to miss! Be sure to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on.

We’ve got great things planned, so come early and be ready for God to do something amazing!

On the road to real life,
Sean

Downgraded [Sermon Series]

Hey River City,

OK…this is it!  This Sunday, September 18th, I’ll be starting our new message series called, “DOWNGRADED – Embracing Financial Reality.” This series is one that we all can relate to! The recent downgrade of our national credit rating has brought financial issues to the forefront of our thinking and conversations. This is a public crisis that reflects some very personal practices and realities. We’ll be looking at the things that led us down this path and get some biblical wisdom on turning this ship around.  You don’t want to miss this one!

I’ve attached a flyer with details and a map for you to share with friends and family. You’ll want to pass this on to the people that you care about. Check out reallife.org for more information about what’s happening at River City!

This is going to be a big weekend, so be praying, come early, and look for a way to help a guest find their way around!

See you Sunday,
Sean

Church would be great if it weren’t for people

// June 7th, 2011 // Comments Off // Uncategorized

This last Sunday Pastor Sean started his new series titled “Church would be great if it weren’t for people”. This will be a four week series on 1 & 2 Corinthians. One of the great things about this series is it will be led by our River City teaching team. Each week one of the teaching team pastors will bring their unique perspective to what God has given them for the section of Corinthians we will be studying. 1 and 2 Corinthians has a total of 27 chapters so the exciting part about this series is Pastor Sean has challenged us, as a church, to read a chapter a day. Last Sunday he shared that challenge with us and laid out how we can go about getting the most from our daily reading through a very simple and engaging process. This series will be based around a very simple acronym R.E.A.P…Read, Examine, Apply, Pray. If you did not get your journal last Sunday then be sure to go www.reallife.org/reap/ to download your copy. We will be praying for you this week as you start on this journey to strengthen your faith!

How to R.E.A.P.

Read: Read the passage of scripture for the day. What do you find particularly interesting, comforting, or meaningful?

Examine: What are your thoughts on the passage? What does it mean? Look up references or definitions that apply to this scripture.

Apply: How does this passage apply to your life? How will you be different today because of what you’ve just read?

Pray: Write a prayer based on what you learned and what’s going on in your life today.

For each week in the current series, we are reading 1st & 2nd Corinthians as a church. Read a chapter each day, and journal about it in the provided journal, or one of your own.

If you missed last weeks message then I encourage you to go online and check it out at http://www.reallife.org/sermons/ to hear more about how you can R.E.A.P the benefits of a daily time spent with God.

Ready to start your Journey?

// February 19th, 2011 // Comments Off // Uncategorized

Hey New Braunfels Campus! I know a lot of you have already signed up for The Journey membership class but in the event that you haven’t there is still time! Stop by the info booth tomorrow during one of our services and sign up! The class will be from 3pm-6pm tomorrow at the NB Campus! This is a great opportunity to hear more about what River City Community Church is all about. We will go through 3 different sessions with breaks in between each session. During these breaks we encourage to grab a snack, meet someone new and look for a small group or activity group to get connected to. We look forward to seeing you there!

All for Him,

Billy

3rd Annual Super Bowl Party

// February 8th, 2011 // Comments Off // Uncategorized

We had a wonderful time this past Sunday at our 3rd Annual Super Bowl Party.

We had our customary chili cook-off that was super tasty. Men’s Ministry grilled up a delicious variety of meats for the carnivores in the crowd.
