We have a BIG day tomorrow New Braunfels Campus!! We are having our first ever Sunday Serve! Be at the NB Campus tomorrow at 10am for worship and then join us at New Life Children’s Center as we help them get their facilities in shape! We will be serving at their facility until 1pm. We will be helping them work on their sport courts, sport fields, gardens and other landscaping. Please bring any gardening/landscaping items you might have such as shovels, rakes, gloves, weed-eaters ect.. Be sure to dress to serve (T-shirts, shorts, tennis shoes) This is going to be a great opportunity for all of us to serve an awesome organization! You are more than welcome to bring your children with you to New Life to help learn how to serve or you can take advantage of our children’s programs at the church that will take place while the service project is going on. We ask that all children are picked up by 1:30pm. We look forward to serving with you tomorrow!

Demolition was a smash hit!

I must say that demolition Saturday couldn’t have gone any better. We had over 20 people come help and we had a blast! You learn a lot about people when you give them a hammer and wall to demo. Wow. We were able to go in and tear down areas where we will have our foyer and new stage AND with little to no injuries. I mean you have to know that when you get our associate pastor, Willy Mayfield, around tools he WILL always find away to injure himself.  All in all it was a great day of work and fellowship. A huge thanks goes out to all the volunteers who helped with demo, providing breakfast and lunch and clean up. Because of everyone’s effort we are ahead of schedule and look to be able to complete build out of our new foyer, doors and stage this Saturday the 31st. We invite all of you to come out and join us at our new facility this Saturday at 8am. We will need people to assist with handing supplies to our builders, clean up, lunch and some outside landcaping. Don’t miss out on the fun! Hope to see you all there!

OK RCCC New Braunfels…who wants to do some demolition!?  This Saturday at 8am we will be having our first work day at our new facility. Because of  a few “things” that happened with me at our Redland campus workdays I will be allowed to participate but only under strict supervision! We have a lot to do both inside and outside to prepare for our March 7th launch date and could use your help. Please bring any tools you might be able to use to help demo wood and metal structures. We also need a few of you to bring some tools for landscaping. We do not need to mow but could use weed eaters, shears, tree trimmers, ect. This is going to be a great day of work and fellowship! We will have breakfast tacos in the morning while supplies last so get there early! The address is 1600 River Road N.B. Tx. 78132. As alway please pray for this transition in to our new facility to go smoothly. Hope to see you there!

Haiti Relief Effort

Author: newbraunfels

Dear River City Family,

We have all been overwhelmed with sadness and grief as we have heard reports and seen footage of the devastation that struck Haiti this week.  The numbers of people killed, injured, or displaced is staggering. Please, join me in praying for God’s miraculous grace and presence as relief efforts are carried out.

Many of you have asked if River City will be getting involved in relief efforts to the Haitian people as they deal with the aftermath of their recent earthquake. After looking into the many efforts underway, we have determined that partnering with the organization “World Relief” is our best option. We have worked with World Relief in the past, and believe that their efforts will have greater impact because of their efforts through the local church as well as direct partnering with organizations like the Red Cross.

You can give online at reallife.org by clicking on the “donate online” link in the lower right hand corner of the home page.  Put the amount you’d like to give and then under the ministry dropdown designate it as “disaster relief”. The next page will collect all of your credit card information. If you’d rather write a check, or give cash, bring it to church on Sunday and make it payable to River City Community Church with a written designation of “disaster relief” on the check or the envelope. We will forward everything that comes in to World Relief.  Thank you for joining in this effort.

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti and for those that are serving there in this time of crisis.

Seeking Him,

Sean Azzaro
Senior Pastor

A Bright Light in a Dim World

Author: newbraunfels

I absolutely love this time of year! For most of us this time of year represents a season to give…to share with those we love as well as those that are less fortunate. It’s a time to prepare our list of cards to send and gifts to give. Some of you wake up at 5am Thanksgiving day to strategize your Black Friday attack plan. We blitz the malls and specialty stores in order to find the perfect gifts. It is also a time to focus on the less fortunate. Many churches, organizations and people work very hard to reach out to their communities and beyond. Every retail store has the sound of  very commited bell ringers next to a bright red can. All the gas stations have their blue santa trees up. The schools have boxes available for gently used blankets and coats. Many other businesses are doing everything from can food drives to portable heaters. I know our New Braunfels Campus just had an amazing Thanksgiving outreach that allowed families in need to pick up pre boxed meals to take back and prepare in their own homes for Thanksgiving. We were able to feed over 300 people! There are so many different ways to give. You can donate household items, money, time and on and on but don’t forget the one priceless gift you can give that can help change a life forever. The gift of hope through a life in Christ. In a season built on good intentions many find themselves stressed, depressed and hopeless so I encourage you to be a light…a reflection of God’s  hope and love for us!

”You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:14-16

What is it that you, your family or friends are doing to give the hope of Christ to others this Christmas season? Leave me a comment.
